Headaches after rhinoplasty. When will it go away?

Question

I had rhinoplasty four days ago. I had a good amount of bone removed and broken I have swelling between my eyebrows and Im having headaches there like i have to put my head down and my eyes feel strained. Is this normal? How long will it take to go away?

You should discuss your concerns with your surgeon since he or she performed your specific rhinoplasty surgery and can examine your case the most accurately.

Hi there. Try not to worry. This is normal 4 days after surgery. Usually I give patients oral steroid pills to help minimize post operative discomfort. Sudafed can also help relieve some pressure. Lots of icing in the cheek area can be of significant benefit. You will feel better. No doubt. All the best

Hi there. I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well
after your rhinoplasty. Headaches, especially in the area you describe, are not
uncommon following this surgery. If the pain isn't manageable with your
prescribed medicine or over-the-counter pain relievers, or if your headaches
last for several weeks, follow up with your surgeon. He or she will be able to
determine whether the headaches are related to your surgery. Best of luck.

You should talk to your surgeon about this.  There are normal and abnormal reasons for post op pain and pressure.

Headaches are not uncommon following nasal surgery.  It may be due to muscle tension or nasal/sinus congestion.  Usually this will subside over time.  Nasal saline rinses may help.
