Is it immoral to get cosmetic Rhinoplasty?

This is an interesting question.  I think referring to rhinoplasty as "cutting off people's noses" is a bit of an extreme description.  Rhinoplasty done properly and artistically should not be noticeable.  I have certainly declined to operate on numerous patients who's aesthetic sense differed from mine.  Ultimately, it is your body and you should do what you think is right.  Religious and other beliefs can set up a moral dilemma in this regard, however.  I think most surgeons would not be particularly worried about this aspect or they would not do the surgery in the first place.  Rational people who come in for plastic surgery have typically thought long and hard about their decision to have the procedure and are bothered by some part of their body.  They may be suffering from lack of confidence related to this.  Other people who do not have these issues probably just don't get it, so they may view this decision as crazy or even immoral.  Good luck!

As long as you are are an adult, and  understand how a rhinoplasty will reshape your nose to your liking, it is not immoral to have this done.  Choosing to undergo any cosmetic surgery is a personal choice, which should be made after an in depth consult with a plastic surgeon.  A cosmetic rhinoplasty does not change who you are, it only brings the nasal shape into a better proportion with the rest of your facial features.

It is not immoral to get a cosmetic rhinoplasty. However, it is important to understand the reasons behind the desire of getting a rhinoplasty done. If you are doing it for nefarious purposes (which I really cannot think of any) then it would be immoral.One factor you have to think of is your age. At a very young age (under 15) it can be too early for an individual to sometimes handle the emotional aspects of having surgery and it can effect nose growth as well. It would also be helpful to ask this question to an ethicist and see what she/he has to say.RegardsDr. JDisclaimer:
