Thank you for sharing your question. Although your age is not a limiting factor for surgery (assuming you are otherwise healthy) I would recommend pursuing weight loss prior to any procedure as this will not only maximize your results but also minimize complication risk.
Thanks for your question!Absolutely not to old! Schedule a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best wishes!
Thanks for your question. For a mommy makeover procedure at my practice, there is a body mass index (BMI) limit of 33, which is based on your height and weight. From the info you provided, your BMI is 38.1 and over the required limit for this surgery. I recommend you speak with your primary care physician to discuss weight loss options so you can be ready for your surgery. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Dr. Moises Salama, board certified plastic surgeon.
As long as you are relatively healthy as you said, you should be fine to do liposuction, Abdominoplasty, and breast lift in one procedure. Now if your lab work says otherwise, listen to your physician and be safe about your procedures. I always recommend using a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for your procedures. Thanks for your inquiry, in general terms health is much more important than absolute age. As we age, we do potentially develop health concerns. Timing of surgery is important and you should be within 10-15 pounds of your ideal goal weight and have an adequate pre-operative clearance.
Thank you for your question regarding whether you're too old to undergo a mommy makeover. Age is not a contraindicated to plastic surgery, poor health is. If you are young with medical problems, plastic surgery is usually not suggested. If you are older without medical problems, plastic surgery is possibly an option. Therefore, since you mentioned that you are in good health, I would suggest you consult with an experienced board-certified plastic surgeon. I have performed tummy tucks on much older patients than you very successfully. It will be important for you and your plastic surgeon to discuss whether you can undergo the tummy tuck with the breast lift at the same time. Another option may be to perform the lipo and tummy tuck separate from the breast lift. However, your plastic surgeon will carefully examine you. Before any procedure is performed, I would highly suggest a routine EKG, chest x-ray, physical examination, and routine blood work. However, a healthy 58-year-old can successfully undergo a tummy tuck, liposuction, and a breast lift. Good luck. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Hello @Jersey1130 !Age is not a factor, other health factors are more important - some things to consider prior to surgery for example is BMI. Thank you for your question!
I've had Mommy Makeover patients in their 40's, 50's, and 60's! You can certainly still consider a Mommy Makeover if you are 58 and in good health. I would recommend to be a good candidate that you maintain a BMI of 30 or below in order to optimize your results from surgery.
Not at all. This is the time to do this so you can enjoy the results longer. Go see a board certified plastic surgeon and do your homework so you connect with someone experienced and qualified. I'm about your age, so I really appreciate good work done and I'm happy to pay for quality and more importantly -safety. Best Wishes!!
Dear Jersey1130,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. As long as you are healthy, your age is not a contraindication for surgery. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
