Can I request medical records and photos from a previous liposuction surgeon?

I am going to a new Dr for a consultation next month. I have had surgeries in the past. My last surgery was a tummy tuck in 2014. Am I allowed to contact my prior surgeons office and ask to have a copy of the before and after pictures that they took of me? DCan the patient have a copy of these photos sent via email or however this is done? How does that work? Would they still have them after all these years?

You are entitled to a copy of your medical records.  Often times the office will need a release form signed by you before they can be given.  The office can discuss with you the manner in which the records can be submitted to you based on that particular office's policies.

The maintenance of medical records varies from state to state. Doctors are not obligated to keep medical records indefinitely.
Patients are entitled to get copies of their medical records. Physicians may charge appropriate fees for copying and postage, but are otherwise obligated to provide copies of medical records, including before, and after pictures upon request.
I suggest asking your previous provider to forward your entire medical record, including all before, and after pictures. 
Typically patients sign a release form when requesting medical records.
