How do I find an experienced, reputable plastic surgeon for lower lid surgery? I have had bags under my eyes since my late teens and have progressively gotten worse over the years. I want to look refreshed.

I'd recommend seeing a surgeon that regularly performs lower blepharoplasties. This would mean that they perform these procedures at a minimum several times a week. I personally perform most lower blepharoplasties in the office using local anesthetic. The sutures are removed in 3-4 days, and most patients can wear a little makeup and go back to work at that time. If a patient has certain anatomic features, I may recommend a more sophisticated technique in the operating room. That technique can have a quicker recovery than the office procedure.
