Thank you for sharing your question. It probably would do no harm and might be beneficial to apply cocoa butter or vitamin E to the incision scars. Sunblock and sunglasses are more important. Good luck with the recovery.
Hi Pacobodie,Thanks for your question. Glad to hear that your outcome is going well since your concern is just the scar. At 11 days your incision is closed but still in the early stages of healing with the scar strength likely no more than 25% strong. Be gentle with whatever you are applying to your incision. Vit E and/or Cocco Butter should help because of the massage factor to the incision. Please check with your surgeon. I usually recommend silicone gel with sunscreen since it has some science behind it. Good luck and be careful with the pressure that you place on your incision.Sincerely,Carlos Mata MD, MBA, FACS
You should ask your surgeon what they would like you to. Although these should be fine, they may have something they prefer. Vitamin E has been shown to be no better than vaseline for a scar, and some people have sensitivity to vitamin E and it can cause inflammation.
I strongly encourage you to discuss your plan with your surgeon who has examined you, who knows you, and knows how you are healing. Do not take advice from strangers who have not examined you. Generally these measures do nothing that time would not accomplish. If harm is caused, it is your surgeon who will need to fix the problem. Call your surgeon and get advice from them.
treatment of eyes after blepharoplastySwelling, discoloration, and some bruising areto be expected. It is not unusual to have some difficulty seeing during thefirst day or two after surgery because of the swelling and eyelubricants/ointment used during and after surgery.Patients vary a great deal in their recoveryrate, but usually can resume normal light activity or work 3–4 days aftersurgery, using dark glasses and make-up to camouflage the swelling anddiscoloration. The patient will usually be presentable without dark glasses in10 days. A small amount of residual swelling persists for many weeks, butgradually disappearsYou should discuss any medications with your surgeon
It is best to ask your surgeon his preferred scar care post-surgery. Every surgeon is a bit different in what they suggest.
The scar treatments you are describing should be fine to apply eleven days after your upper blepharoplasty.

If your eyes are dry and irritated your surgeon should be able to suggest over the counter measures such as drops during the day, and ointment for nighttime use. Give him a call again and try to keep a followup appointment for care.
