You are hitting on a bit of a controversial subject. I personally think that the garments are very important for first week after liposuction, but after that the need diminishes greatly. You will have less swelling if wear the garments, but I do not think there is any long term detriment to not wearing the garment after the first week.
I recommend not sitting for 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks, I recommend sitting on your posterior thighs.
