Uneven jaw & popping below ear - is it TMJ or worse? Please help! (Photos)

My jaw is extremely uneven and continues to get worse I have a popping right below my ear and on the side of my jaw that is way shorter than the other side and is way tighter with no hole like feeling like the other side does where I put my finger todo the exercises im not sure what to do I have braces I’ve had them since March lately the past month it’s been getting a little more difficult to yawn and take big breaths in when I try it’s like my jaw won’t relax enough to allow myself too:(((

Hi! Would recommend that you consult your dentist to identify if it is TMJ disorder that is causing you trouble. The strain in the jaw is typically caused due to involuntary clenching or grinding of the teeth. Once the structural issue has been addressed then you should schedule an appointment with an experienced plastic surgeon who can help you with your desired appearance through Botox fillers.

I encourage you to speak to your orthodontist about the concerns you are experiencing.  If it is deemed that you have TMJ you may find some relief with Botox.  It will help the muscle to relax and hopefully improve your symptoms.

First see your oral surgeon/dentist to make sure everything structural has been addressed. Then you could see a physician who treats TMJ/oral mandibular dystonia/bruxism with Botox injected into the temporals and masseter muscles and insurance will likely pay for it.
