I typically recommend that my patients wear a compression garment for a few weeks after liposuction. Every surgeon is different with their post op directions to their patients so I would follow your surgeon's direction for after surgery. Good luck with your recovery!
You should wear the compression garment as long as your surgeon directs. The primary benefit is for comfort in the early postoperative period. It is doubtful that it has any long-term effect on the final product however
Thanks for the question. The role of compression in healing is to decrease the fluid retention and swelling after a liposuction procedure. The standard is a 6 week period. All the best,Dr. Results
We recommend that you wear your compression garment night and day for 4 weeks following liposuction surgery.
I prefer garments to be worn only for one week but you will find some surgeons can use it up to 6 months, best to speak to the doctor performing your procedure
Our office recommends compression for 6-8 weeks after liposuction. After 2 weeks we recommend patients to purchase a second stage girdle such as Spanx to switch to.
I recommend that my patients use compression garments for six weeks. Many patients, however, choose to use them beyond six weeks particularly when they are starting exercise or strenuous activity. I recommend using compressive garment during 04 weeks in conjunction with the realization of postoperative massage and ultrasound in a specialized center . 0bviously every plastic surgeon has its own protocol.
Every plastic surgeon seems to have their own protocol in regards to compression to fit their technique and style of surgery. Speak with your plastci surgeon about this. He or she will guide you to the best recovery practices so you get the best result.
