I can still grab fat around the abdominal area after Vaser Lipo is that normal? . I’m 3 weeks post op

Thank you for your question regarding fat in the abdominal area after VASER liposuction. Based on your limited history and without physical examination or pictures, I believe you are still swollen. Since you are still only three weeks’ post-op and its to early to tell anything. For most patients, the swelling is gone at approximately six weeks. For other patients, the swelling may take eight to twelve months to subsidize after VASER liposuction. At this point in time, I would not worry. I would express your concerns, however, to your plastic surgeon. If you were my patient, I would suggest you undergo lymphatic massage for at least 5 treatments. I would suggest you continue to wear your garment until you are at least six to eight weeks post op. I would also suggest a high protein low carbohydrate diet, and aggressive exercise. In conclusion, it is too early to tell if this is fat or swelling. I hope it is just swelling. hello southwestsMany studies indicate that there is also less injury than the traditional liposuction method resulting in less pain, swelling and bruising.  Final results can be seen 2-4 months later as the swelling continues to diminish and contours become more defined.   These contours can even improve throughout the year after surgery. #post-op #results
We will generally have our patients use a variety of compressive garments while they heal.  More specific body sculpting or hi-definition treatments may require more specific compression to obtain the best result.

You may consider some lymphatic massage to speed up your recovery if you have a skilled practitioner in your area. Continue to followup with your treating physician. Congratulations on your surgery! Three weeks is too short of a time to assess the final outcome. Typically, Vaser Lipo maximum results will take up to 6 months so you still could have improvements in the way your abdomen and flanks look. Swelling is a common occurrence in the liposuction post-operative period. I recommend you to be patient and wear the compression garments for at least 8 weeks to help skin contract smoothly to your body’s new contour. Hi,It is much to early to start analyzing your final results from your procedure. Typically patients will take up to 4-6 months to heal completely.  You likely still will have a lot of inflammation and swelling at this point post procedure.  Adding lymphatic massages will help remove the fluid quickly, also adding a skin tightening agent such as thermi smooth or venus legacy will improve the contours of your skin and help you reach your final end point sooner.Hope this helps

It is too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. I tell my patients that some people begin to see results after about two weeks, but that many don't see much of anything for 4 - 6 weeks.  It is very normal to have significant swelling and bruising after Vaser Lipo and until this completely resolves, the area may look bigger or not significantly different.  I would wait at least 6 weeks and then follow up with the physician that did the procedure. 

There should be no residual fat on your abdomen after VASER when done properly. If there was fat left behind, it should have been done intentionally to avoid skin redundancy. You need a consultation with a Vaser specialist.

This can be typically normal. This could still be a result of the trauma, fat slow to move out, or fluids still in the area. Every patient reacts differently. You may be benefit from lymphatic massage.
