Ok so i got some prp injected in my scalp late August. I First noticed some shedding for a few weeks then t stopped. Recently it picked up again but it seems to be shedding more than usual and it's sort of concerning. Would please like some closure to give me a little hope that this will work otherwise im looking into a hair transplant.
Answer: Understanding Hair loss and hair loss treatment options: hair transplant, prp and progesterone No, prp shouldn't cause an in crease in hair shedding. I do recommend combining prp with progesterone to improve results. It will take up to 6 months to see improvement. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hair loss expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: PRP and shedding Since your PRP therapy was 6 months ago the current shedding should not be related.Perhaps it is time for another treatment or you need to be on Finasteride and/or Minoxidil.I would recommend a consultation with a Dermatologist or experienced Hair Restoration surgeon to develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Answer: PRP can result in some initial shedding, as it functions to convert some resting hairs into the Anagan phase. PRP can result in some initial shedding, as it functions to convert some resting hairs into the Anagan phase. Not all PRP is equal and if your doctor does not remove the white blood cells from the mixture, the shedding can occur from the inflammation. Some doctors believe that PRP actually causes a good inflammation and that the growth factors that are released stimulate regrowth and the growth phase. If micro needling is involved with the PRP, shredding can also occur. However if properly performed with the proper PRP mixture being injected into the scalp, then you can expect the hair to regrow stronger after the shedding phase.

Answer: PRP This sounds atypical, PRP should not cause hairloss. I would recommend an evaluation with a reputable provider.
