It is very common for patients to experience bruisingfollowing their Botox injections. I would advise patients having a surgicalprocedure to abstain from any type of treatment 4 weeks before and after thesurgery to eliminate the possibility of adverse affects that can lead to yoursurgery having to be rescheduled. Ultimately, you should follow your surgeon’s instructions. All the best,
Thank you for your question. I believe you can have Botox prior to surgery, but ultimately, I would consult with your doctor. Speak to your treating physician. They can advise you accordingly.
It is best to avoid Botox prior to surgery as changes in the muscle movement and wrinkles can effect the location of the incision. Wait for a month at least after your surgery and then have the Botox. RegardsDr. J
Great question. I would seek the advice of your surgeon. If the lipoma is in the area of the injection it may be best to wait 3-4 weeks after your surgery. Any time you are injecting the face you risk bruising. You wouldn't want your botox injections to delay your surgery.
This should not be a problem, depending on how much time is planned between the botox and the lipoma removal. I would not plan to do botox if you will be having the lipoma removed within the week, but otherwise should not be an issue. Following surgery, you should likely wait 3-4 weeks before having botox to allow swelling to go down before your injections.
Yes! You can definitely receive Botox in your forehead prior to your lipoma removal. The only consideration is to not have your Botox treatment the same day as your lipoma removal. After a Botox treatment you should not lie down or manipulate the area for 4 hours minimum. As mentioned previously the decreased movement in your forehead could actually aid in reducing the scar you are left with post surgery. Take care!
Thank you for you questionYes you can have botox and actually there is new evidence that botox just before a surgery on the same site can improve your scar!Best Wishes,Dr Genevieve F. Caron, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonMontreal, Canada
Botox would be safe and fine before your lipoma removal. In fact, because there will be less movement in the area for about 4 months, the stitched lipoma area will likely heal better.
It might even be a good idea as pull on scars tends to make them stretch and look slightly worse and so a relaxed forehead when the lipoma is removed might make the healing faster and better. Brow lift surgeons often employ this technique to maximise the effect from brow lift surgery. Adam Goodwin
I recommend that you first have the lipoma removed before getting your Botox injection. If you’re having surgery in that area I’m not sure what the rush of getting Botox right before surgery would be. You will want your doctor to be able to assess your forehead function before the surgery and make well hidden incisions based on your wrinkles. You can get Botox a couple weeks after the surgery when your surgeon clears you. Waiting will also help create a better result from the Botox injection since the lipoma will be gone. I hope this helps. Dr. Ardeshirpour
Other than the initial bruising in the temple, there is unlikely to be any side effects from injecting Botulinum Toxin into a vein. Botox doesn't tend to cause vascular problems like dermal fillers so is safer in this area. The doses used from 1 injection are also relatively small. If you are...
It can definitely be a little nerve-wracking the first time you get BOTOX and see temporary side effects like what you’ve described in your question. However, it is true that it can take up to 2 weeks to see you final results. So at just a few days after your injections, it’s safe to say tha...
You are welcome to take any supplements at this time. If concern arises for timing again ask your injector about their preferences.
Yes but be aware you may get more bruising than another patient. Your doctor will be able to advise further. Good luck! Richard Price
Dear jinx40,Thank you for your question. You should not have to request where to get your Botox injected. Any reputable, experienced injector should be able to deliver the results you want based on your anatomy. Usually this can be achieved with with targeted injections to the lateral...
Hello and thank you for your question. Yes Botox can help with tension in your jaw as well as preventing the wrinkles around your mouth from worsening or becoming static. It is hard to say exactly what the treatment plan will be without seeing you in person, but I have treated people with thi...
