Can I get lipo? I'm small but carry some fat (Photo)

Question

Im looking for a smaller waist. my waist is currently 27.5 inch and I want a waist that's around 24 inches. Is this possible with liposuction ? I'm a petite girl so some doctors say they won't but my waist has always been so wide I would love to just get down to that size.

Hello and thank you for your question. Although you have a small frame I believe that you can benefit from liposuction. it is not easy to determine from the pictures if you have enough fat to remove so you can reach your goal waist of 24 inches. We can only determine this by physically examining you. However, with the right surgeon, I believe you can definitely get a curvier waist. Bet wishes.

Thank you for your question. While you are petite, there is likely some fat that can be removed with liposuction. Based on your pictures, I do not believe that you will lose 3 inches of waist line. However it is possible to sculpt your waist/flanks in order to provide a curvier silhouette. Sometimes this can be combined with a small or modest BBL to get a powerful result.

Liposuction often provides a minor reduction in your waist circumference but ultimately your body's own bone and muscle structure are wha determine your final measurements. Lipo is never done with the hopes of accomplishing a final size or measurement, but rather a more desirable shape to the patient. For women desiring an even smaller waist, oftentimes rib removal surgery provides a signifcant reduction in waist circumference.

From your photos you look very petite and lean. It's hard to judge how much fat, if any, you have that can be removed. The flanks or love handle area typically has some excess tissue that can be removed and that would help to redefine your waist. I do not know if you will achieve your ideal goal of 24 inches but if you are deemed a good candidate for lipo I think you will have a nice result. Good luck.

Are probably the number one variable that determines if someone is a good it’s for Liposuction is having tight skin and at least moderate amounts body fat. 
The amount of change that can be achieved depends on how much fat you have to remove. It’s unlikely you’ll see inches removed from your waist because your slim and your subcutaneous fat layer simply isn’t that thick.
Doesn’t mean you can’t have liposuction but getting a clear understanding what can and cannot be achieved its best achieved by having in person consultations with local board-certified plastic surgeons who have plenty of experience and have it enough before and after pictures to show your previous patient with very similar body characteristics like yourself. 
Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe and this includes classic surgeons. Results are permanent and more or less irreversible so it’s very important to choose the right provider. If done poorly Liposuction can leave patients disfigured .
To find the best provider I suggest patients schedule multiple in person consultations and whenever possible avoid virtual consultations. During each consultation ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures of abdominal liposuction results simply saying a handful of the pre-selected pictures most likely representing the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. an experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of this commonly performed procedure Gahan look carefully at all areas treated to make sure there are no contour irregularities anywhere in any of the pictures. Asked provider to review with you what areas were treated and what areas were not treated and look carefully at transition zones between treated and untreated areas.
Like I mentioned earlier asking providers to show as many pictures of patients with similar body characteristics to your own. You may also want to ask the provider to show examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes in less than outcomes.
Patience or expecting inches to come off or clothing sizes to change are often disappointed with Liposuction. Slim people are going to have subtle changes and not have a major change in your overall body contour which is more determined by musculoskeletal structure than it is fat distribution.
Finally I recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers with any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews. Continue having in person consultations until you found the most experienced and talented provider will you feel very comfortable and performing the procedure for you
Most plastic surgeons have not mastered liposuction and being a board-certified plastic surgeon with overall good reputation is insufficient to confirm that the provider has mastered this procedure or can deliver consistent quality results without irreversible problems.
Personally I think your body looks great and you have a nice waist. Your pictures are A bit limited to make it really good assessment but I don’t think Liposuction is going to have a major impact no Liposuction Lil B of my patients can create better definition and have my patient satisfaction if done correctly.
Preston Lee I viewed a torso as a single anatomic unit and typically recommend treating the entire torso if doing liposuction on any part of the torso. Another words that generally do not recommend spot treating or just treating the problem areas. Doing that leaves people with an ab that distribution that doesn’t look natural. The full torso includes upper abdomen, lower abdomen, love handles, waist, fall back and under arm area on the way to the side of the breast.
When it doubt slow down and schedule more consultations. Patients should be very comfortable with their provider knowing that provider has the thousands of liposuction cases in proven their ability to live liver consistent results by having a collection of before and after pictures that reads like a telephone book
