I'm a dialysis patient. Been on peritoneal dialysis for 4 years. I've wanted breast augmentation surgery for longer than that. Is it possible for me? I'm overall healthy despite my ESRD. How long would recovery be for me? I'm like an A/B cup but they are saggy. I only want to be a full C cup.
Answer: Candidate for breast augmentation Thank you for your question. As a patient on dialysis, you will need to be cleared by your nephrologist before surgery. Once cleared, I think you will be a good candidate for an augmentation. Good Luck!Tahira Prendergast MD, FACS

Answer: Breast augmentation and dialysis I would discuss your desires with you primary care physician and nephrologist first to be sure they feel you are healthy enough for elective surgery. Assuming that’s true, there should be no major contraindication to breast augmentation surgery. You may be at higher risk for complications with surgery such as infection, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. I would see a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Best of luck.
