What can be done about hernia 2.5 years after tummy tuck?

Question

I developed a hernia years after my TT. Easy recovery, I am active, low body weight. Probably developed due to weight lifting. Report says: 'Tiny fat-containing ventral body wall hernia inferior to the umbilicus levellinea alba; Defect measures 3 mm. sac is slightly right lateral to the midlinemeasures 8 x 4 mm'. NP rec no surgery and stop exercising so it doesn't become worse. But for AESTHETICS what should I do? I do not want to compromise my TT result or give up weight lifting

it looks like your hernia is small so you don't have to get a surgery right now. However, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

A small umbilical hernia like that can be corrected either through the incision around the umbilicus or by redoing the tummy tuck. It sounds like a small hernia. Up to you if it’s worth fixing

Go visit with a general surgeon and see if insurance will cover this hernia. anyone can develop a hernia, especially when doing heavy lifting.

I suggest you follow up with your plastic surgeon.
Without an examination or knowing if the hernia is visible, palpable, etc. it’s hard to give you any useful information.
Did your tummy tuck include muscle tightening?
If the hernia isn’t causing a problem, then I don’t think you need to do anything.
Continue exercise and enjoy life.
If the hernia causing problems, then consider fix it.
It’s difficult to give you quality answer without having all the information we need.
Following up with your provider should be adequate to get some guidance.
I don’t know why a nurse practitioner would tell you to stop exercising?!?!?
