What are the long term results associated with neck/chin lipo? (Photo)

Question

I am a 34 yr old female who would like a tighter neck. I am trying to decide between just lipo or going all out with neck lift, chin implant, etc. I know that some PSs do not recommend neck lipo and prefer direct excision of the fat. I am concerned that just lipo may give me good results now, but poor results later as I age? What do you think?'

From your photos, it appears you would be an excellent candidate for SmartLipo, aka laser assisted liposuction.  SmartLipo is different from traditional liposuction, as a laser is first utilized to melt the fat under the chin prior to suctioning.  The laser not only melts the fat , but also heats the skin in a controlled fashion.  Heating the skin allows for better skin contraction, something that is typically not seen in any substantial degree in traditional liposuction.  With SmartLipo patient see a degree of skin tightening in the neck which is very attractive.  I suggest you seek a surgeon specializing in facial cosmetic surgery for a consultation.  Good Luck!

At 34 years of age, the skin Tone of the neck should be acceptable.  There is significant fatty deposits located above AND below the platysma muscle in the neck which must be removed with surgery, in addition to a platysma plasty.  The photographs also demonstrate a weak and recessive chin profile for whicha chin implant can help improve the jawline and projection of the chin. Liposuction will definitely alter your contours; but consider a genioplasty as well to extend the distance between the throat and chin point' to accentuate the jawline. This adds definition and 'stretches' the muscle under the chin as the chin is advanced.Talk to a cosmetic Maxillofacial surgeon
