Keeping your head slightly elevated for 2 days may help the postop swelling, but in my opinion lying flat will not compromise your final result. Good luck, Jane
lying is a semi reclined position could help decrease swelling after liposuction but generally a pillow should be enough. an alternative would be Coolsculpting as a non-invasive treatment, providing you essentially no downtime.
I don't see why this should be an issue at all but you should ask your plastic surgeon to be sure. Best,Mats Hagstrom M.D.
We let our chin lipo patients sleep flat after their surgery. This may cause a little transient swelling but it will quickly dissipate. My best, Dr Commons
Hi, I have performed many Neck Liposuctions and Chin Augmentations using chin implants for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin is weak. A weak chin creates an imbalance making the nose appear larger, the mid face top heavy and the lower face look short that de-emphasizes the lips and allows early formation of a double chin. Chin augmentation using a chin implant will add projection to the chin creating harmony and balance to the lower face. I have found that placement of a silastic chin implant, through a small curved incision under the chin (also allows excess skin removal) to be very safe, quick, highly effective and far less invasive than a sliding genioplasty. I perform chin implant surgery in 30 minutes or less, often using a local anesthetic alone. You may want to keep your head elevated slightly for the first several days to reduce any swelling from the liposuction. Hope this helps.

There are a few options. I find that VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates but Kybella can be used as an alternative with or without thermage/ultherapy/exilis. A chin implant would also give more definition. See an expert for ...
