I'm trying to see if I should go through the process of a breast reduction. I have upper and middle back pain often as well as indents in my shoulders from bra straps. I also just don't like the way my large breasts look. Last I was fitted I am a 36DD. I'm 5'6" and 175lbs. I have had a child as well and breast feed for 8 weeks. I'm 10 months postpartum. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Answer: Bellesoma Breast Reduction The technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reduce and reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. The weight of the breast is transferred to the underlying pectoralis major muscle resulting in pain relief without excessive reduction. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast Reduction Thank you for your question. A breast reduction is an excellent procedure for individuals with very large heavy breasts that contribute to upper back and shoulder pain. In your case, your body is still recovering from childbirth. If you are planning to have more children over the next few years I would recommend waiting until you are no longer planning on having more children. Your breasts change with each pregnancy, breast feeding and weight changes. Most women who have this procedure are very happy, their back pain and neck pain improve and they find it easier to exercise. Be sure to get an evaluation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Good luck to you
