I have been putting a lot of Vaseline on them also.
Answer: Swelling/Bruising/Lumpiness (early) from Fillers I always tell my patients to not love their filler injections for 2 weeks. Swelling is very common and sometimes immediate. It can last 3-7 days and a good idea is to use cold compresses. Cold compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling only if needed. This may be applied for 3 minutes, 3 times per day, for up to 3 days. This is best done with a bag of peas in a zip lock bag. Only apply light pressure to the area but gentle massage might be necessary if the bump is from the filler material itself. Get Arnica gel if you can find some and apply a few times a day as well to help treat any swelling. Avoid any blood thinners. Bruising can also last 1-2 weeks. I don't recommend hyaluronidase this early and wait a few weeks until the swelling has resolved. If it is persistent or you are worried, set up a follow up appointment with your dermatologist.

Answer: Swelling Hello, and thanks for your question. Post-filler swelling can take 1-2 weeks to fully subside, so it may be early to assess your final result. If you are not pleased with your final result, the product can be dissolved with injection of an enzyme called hyaluronidase. To maximize the likelihood of a favorable outcome, I recommend that you only get treated by a well-trained and experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Hope this opinion is helpful to you. Best of luck, Dr. Frucht.

Answer: Lip fillers At 5 days post procedure it is not unusual to be sore and chapped around the lips. The filler it self is causing some of it, as well as the inflammation from the needle ads to the pain. They will feel better by end of week two.

Answer: Juvederm for lips Thanks for the question. Swelling can persist for a week or longer after lip augmentation. The white around the lips is actually the white roll which is normal, it just looks more pronounced since it was augmented. I would recommend vaseline or chapstick and see your injector. If you have a history of cold sores, you should have been on a mediation before injection to prevent an outbreak which can be painful. Good Luck"The above answer has been given without seeing this patient and cannot be substituted for actual in-person examination and medical advice; it is only opinion. Seek in-person treatment with a trained medical professional for appropriate care."

Answer: Lip fillers Hello Noah123456,The lips tend to have a lot of swelling when injected with fillers. The more that was injected the greater that swelling can be. Because the lips have such a great blood supply (one of the reasons they have their color), they are prone to bruise. Some people will also describe more of a chapped sensation following filler injection. The white rim you see is also normally present, but now that your lips are augmented it is more noticeable. It can take about 2 weeks for the swelling and bruising to go away but usually it is much faster than that. Now if you are having a burning sensation or noticing any blisters, this can be the sign of an outbreak of a virus which would require treatment. If you do have any concerns the best thing is to follow up with your injector. I hope this helps and good luck.
