I've currently got 600cc breast implants behind the breast tissue not under the muscle & i've recently discovered that my implants have ruptured and i have capsular contracture. (i've had theses implants for 11 years) I also need an uplift. So is it possible to have them replaced along with an uplift & have bigger implants put in? I really don't want to go smaller. Thank you to any doctor who answer's & best wishes.
Answer: Breast implant revision Thank you for the question. Removal of the existing implants and their capsules is indicated. This can be followed with placement of new implants under the muscle. An in-person consultation is required to determine whether you are a good candidate for a lift at the same time, as well as to determine the new implant size. I hope this helped. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Fellowship-trained plastic surgeon.

Answer: Bigger implants after revision surgery for capsular contracture, uplift and exchange of implants Dear Tameka Thanks for your question. It is always better to examine a patient and give advise but I will do my best to answer your question with the given information in your question:The most important outcome for cosmetic breast surgery are nice shape breasts with fullness in upper pole and cleavage area. This is much more important than the size. As you had implants before, you may know that there would be a need for future surgery due to different reasons such as rupture, capsule issues, aging, infection etc. I would not recommend going even as big as 600 cc as your skin is now 11 years older and does not have the same strength so going big means that you would need further surgery much sooner (4-5 years). Having an uplift means your surgeon can remove excess skin and then fill it with an appropriate size implant so you would look much better even with a smaller size implant. Although I am not offering it, technically if you have enough loose skin to accommodate a larger than 600 cc implant then it is possible to do it.

Answer: Breast implant exchange and lift Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. 600cc are very large implants. There are no photos to assess, so I can only give very general advice. While it is possible to lift breasts and insert a larger implant, this would stretch your breast even more and cause more droopiness long term. I would think about this carefully and discuss the options with your surgeon.

Answer: Implants I would not suggest going larger since you will increase your chances of another capsule. Large heavy implants will thin and stretch your tissue and cause you to sag more quickly. The 600 cc implants you have now are plenty in size and volume. You would do much better going smaller.

Answer: Lift with smaller implants behind the muscle 600 cc implants are quite large and the largest available are 800 cc. If you have capsular contracture then you will most likely get capsular contracture again with new implants. 800 cc implants will not fit underneath the muscle. You will need smaller implants and most likely need a lift. Unfortunately, you have not provided photographs or told us your bra size. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.
