I had Mentor implants 3 years ago under the muscle. No problems so far. I am a fitness instructor and do press ups and pull ups but no direct chest muscles. Two days ago I noticed these lines appear when I push my boobs up. Never had them before. No pain but If you feel the ridges they are tough under the skin. Please can someone help me to figure out what they are.
Answer: Bands of Capsule Good afternoon, Those are likely just bands of thickened capsule- they don't usually cause any functional problem except sometimes there is the aesthetic concern if they show in clothing. Somple fix is surgery- nonsurgically not a whole lot you can do to change them.

Answer: Breast implants That's the muscle flexing over the implant causing what some people call an animation effect. It's not worrisome or worth trying to correct

Answer: Creases/ridges on top right breast Dear Independent39200, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Can you help figure out what these creases/ridges on top right breast (appeared 3 years post op) are? (Photo) Dear Independent39200, Thank you for your question and photo. I have a question for you. Have you noted any increase in firmness in this breast compared to the other breast? As you know, the body recognizes the implant as foreign and forms a scar (or capsule) around the implant. In some cases, this can progress and lead to increased firmness or lead to tethering of some of the overlying tissue that can then be evident in different positions as the implant moves. If this is bothersome, the scar can be removed (capsulectomy) and the implants replaced. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon to perform a thorough history and physical exam who can then better diagnose and treat you. Hope this is helpful and wish you well.
