Is it possible to have a septo-rhinoplasty and an otoplasty together?

I’m a little short on money and I wanted to know if I could get both the procedures done in one sitting….. I needed to get an otoplasty done because I had unilateral condylar hyperplasia because of which my ears are asymmetrical, and at the same time I have a deviated nasal septum which makes it hard for me to breath through my nose

Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can understand from your question, of course you can have the both surgery in one operation. However, your doctor should be both an ENT and a facial plastic surgeon, but in this way, a surgeon can perform all procedures with a single operation. If you can provide photos from front of your face, from the side of your face and 1 meter away I would be able to make a proper evaluation. These two procedures are technically safe to perform together. However, I would make sure that your rhinoplasty surgeon is very experienced and routinely performs rhinoplasty procedures. Many rhinoplasty procedures involve harvesting cartilage from the ears, and you will want your surgeon to know this prior to beginning your procedure if you are having concomitant otoplasty. With the introduction of cadaveric (donor) cartilage to the market, this has provided another good source of supportive cartilage to the market. This may be an option for you if you want both procedures at the same time but also have a paucity of cartilage.
