Hi there, my case is quite unusual. You always here about mothers hating their breasts for the droopiness. I am an 18 year old girl who is not overweight and have always worn a supportive bra. However I have always hated my breasts, they are saggy with large areolas and I feel so self conscious. People always tell me to wait until I've had children for surgery but I don't think I can, it's making me miserable. Please help.

Answer: Sagging of breasts In my experience it's possible to help patients like you with a combination of breast lifting and areola reduction. Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified. I've attached a link where you can start your search.

Answer: Young with sagging breasts I have seen a lot of patients in your situation, so please know that you are not alone! I also understand this can be super frustrating because drooping breasts are expected as you age, but not when you're young. While you may not want to wait until you are done having children, you do want to wait until the breasts are done growing. At 18 you may still be growing, so that is the first thing to know. If your breasts have stayed at the same size, and your weight is stable too, then it is reasonable to consider a breast lift. A full breast lift can reshape the breast and also reduce the size of the areola and lift the areola to a higher position as well. You would have the full "anchor" type scars, so keep in mind you would be trading incisions or scars for the improved shape and nipple/areola position. Also one thing to note- the possible risks do include a change in nipple sensation or breastfeeding ability. Also, the breasts will change with pregnancy, and with breastfeeding, in a way that may or may not benefit from additional surgery at a later date. Given many women are now having kids later in life, such as their 30s and 40s, I understand you wanting to do the procedure sooner rather than later. Just take your time and research the right doctor for you, since surgery is a life-changing decision.
