Do I have gyno? (photos)

Question

I'm active and workout a lot so I'm not sure if this is gynecomastia or if it is a normal looking chest because I do not have a mesomorphic body type.

Thank you for your photos.  It appears there may be some mild gynecomastia under the nipple.  This will be evident on physical exam if it feels like there was a ball or marble behind the areola.  The good news is this is rather easy to improve.  Be sure to go to someone who performs a lot of these types of surgeries.

Hello, there is no breast enlargement in your photos. However, if there is excessive tissue increase when you touch the breast area, there may be an enlargement in the mammary gland. The best way to find out is to investigate it in more detail with ultrasound imaging.

Hello. Your chest contour looks normal from side view. I can say this situation is not congruent with gynecomastia or it is between no gynecomastia-grade 1 gynecomastia. So if it is too annoying for you, a gland reduction can be done with 1 cm incision under local anesthesia.

There is no specific criteria that clinches the diagnosis of gynecomastia. Men and women both have breast tissue that develops to a certain degree and this varies from person to person.  It is typically not related to hormone levels but rather Breast tissue hormone receptors being overly sensitive to normal hormone levels.

Young adolescent men often develop some breast budding and this typically gets better as they enter young adulthood.

the differential of chest fullness includes excess subcutaneous fat and skin laxity especially in older men or in those who have had substantial weight loss.

Typically surgery is indicated when the condition is enough to bother the patient to the point of justifying the procedure.

To me you have a normal looking chest and nothing to worry about. If it bothers you and you’re willing to undergo surgery to have some of the glandular tissue and or fat removed then there’s no shortage of plastic surgeons willing to take your money.

To me someone Hass to have a pretty good reason to justify having a surgical procedure so I would probably lean more towards reassuring then having surgery.

Obviously weight gain can make the condition worse because of fat that’s also present.

You can always have a few in person consultations bed surgeons tend to be biased towards liking to do surgery.
