To make a quality assessment regarding the uncommon of a plastic surgery procedure, we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures.
If you don’t have proper before, and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took.
I suggest you consider consulting With some oral surgeons in your community.
In my opinion, they tend to have a better understanding of mandible assessments, including differentiating if the problem is in the mentalis or body of the mandible.
If you’re unhappy with the outcome and this bothers you enough to have a second procedure then and revision surgery is indicated.
If your provider doesn’t seem to understand the problem, the perhaps that’s not the right provider for your needs.
Ultimately patience have to make the own decision when it’s time to switch providers.
In the meantime, I suggest getting in person second opinion, consultations from both plastic surgeons and oral surgeons in your community.
For second opinion consultations come prepared to bring with you a complete set of proper before and after pictures and a copy of your operative report.
