I developed a tic from medication over the last few months that involves me contracting/making frown gesture with my eyebrows. I noticed the muscle there is starting to become slightly noticeable, whereas it was flat before. I look angry in some lighting. Will Botox restore my bright eyebrows, and also help me get rid of this tic? I'm only 26, there aren't any lines there. I've quit the medication. It also feels right there and I can feel a slight muscle bump. Will Botox here cause ptosis of eye?
Answer: Muscle between eyebrows getting bunched up/angry look? The simplest solution for overactive corrugator muscles which cause the frown lines is either Botox or Dysport. I suggest having it injected every three months for about a year until the muscles atrophy. Then you can have it done every six months to a year thereafter. Also an injection of a filler such as Juvederm or Restylane will help eradicate the crease, which apparently you don't have at this time.At some time in your life you may elect to have the corrugator muscles resected, and this can be done through an upper eyelid incision or endoscopically through incisions behind the hairline on the forehead. At this point I would stick with the Botox or Dysport.Good luck and thank you for your question
