7 weeks post op of Liposuction, now I have loose skin. Will this go away?

I had a tummy tuck a little over a year ago. Then I had lipo of my flanks, hips and stomach. My doctor said i had good skin so i wouldnt have sagging skin after i had lipo. well i had lipo 7 weeks ago and i have loose skin.. will this go away or am i stuck with it? i am still wearing my cg 23 hours a day.

There is no good way to tighten the skin. Any loose skin after liposuction will either have to be accepted or surgically removed.

I agree with what was said below, the tightening of the skin is unpredictable.  If the doctor thought you would tighten, that may still be the case as this can happen up to 6 months later.  If there is still looseness after 3-6 months you may want to consider skin removal (tummy tuck) or external skin tightening devices such as radiofrequency or ultrasound treatments.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It is impossible to give an accurate opinion without at least photos. Generally speaking, the ability of the skin to contract--is unpredictable. I continue to be surprised at the amount of skin that is removed with abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck). Therefore, I generally advise patients who seek lipo only of the abdomen-- they may want or need skin excision at some future date.

It is too early to tell what your final result will be. You need to wait at least 6 months to be able to get an accurate assessment of your outcome. Skin retraction is variable and I am sure you still have some swelling. I am sure you are anxious to get your results but be patient and this should improve greatly with time.

Skin retraction after liposuction takes months, not weeks.  I think you should be patient and revisit the issue at the six month point.  Much would also depend on how aggressively you were liposuctioned in those areas.  We can anticipate results but can never guarantee how you will actually heal.
