2 months post op of Liposuction and Brazilian Butt Lift. Why am I so itchy still?

I'm 2 months post op lipo and bbl. I am so itchy on my lipo parts (back and thighs mainly ) I want to rip my skin off. It's worse at night and is keeping me from sleeping! I'm ising cream and taking antihistamines but it's still itchy what should I do it's insane

Is sensibility returns to areas that have been liposuction because of persistent inflammation that is part of healing patients often complain of itching. This can be treated with topical cooling or antihistamines.

Itching following these procedures is normal. At 2 months, it's less likely to be seen. Make sure that you are not allergic to the garment or may be using a diffreent dertgent that is causing a contact allergy.

Hi Thank you for your question. Yes, itching after liposuction is normal for many patients. One of the best ways to manage the itching side effect is to purchase an over the counter (non drowsy) oral or topical antihistamineis at a local pharmacy. This should help with the itchiness and soothe the skin in the process of healing. If you notice that the itching gets worse contact your plastic surgeon. Hope this helps,Dr. Dillon

This is a very common complaint following liposuction, but usually starts to subside by 2 months. You may need to consult your physician since it seems more severe than usual.
