Dr.Simmonds, my most favorite human ! Marissa his assistant AMAZING! Dr.Simmonds changed my entire life. He has profound talent a master at his art. He is a no b.s type of doc, which, in my opinion is the best. He tells you exactly what you need to hear and exactly what he knows you need .The work he did "the NEW ME" was far beyond what I hoped for . If you are considering this procedure, see Dr.Simmonds, at least get a consult .. His pricing is very affordable, he does offer a great Cash price . I opted for 24 months zero interest financing. Day of surgery 2 hours post op , I was "normal feeling " no anesthia fog or over drugged , Dr.Simmonds uses a great surgical team, his Anesthesiologist hands down "The Best" I was fortunate to have MAC (monitored anesthesia care) which is deep sleep sedation, I.V sedation so you avoid being intubated, your airway is controlled by YOUR breathing in comparison to general anesthesia, when the machine does your breathing.. Within an hour of leaving the surgical center I was able to eat and walk (bent over ) position myself in bed with a little assistance, dress myself pretty much didn't miss a beat just a little slower than usual . Day 1 post op, I was a passenger princess with a travel time of 3.5 hours and very comfortable .As I write this I am 1 week post, I have not required any pain meds aside from Tylenol extra strength , and Tylenol P.M. I had a few down days but by day 3 I was driving, shopping and making dinner, with little to no assistance. The entire process of this journey has been incredible. The tummy tuck recovery not painful aside from the sorness from muscle repair. My only recommendation for the first week is a heating pad for that sore back (from the hunch of walking) a Wedge pillow to keep you upright and firm pillows under your knees. I will attach the link for the Wedge Amazon : FSCGIFE Bed Wedge Pillow for Sleeping 3PCS, 20-in-1 Adjustable Memory Foam Wedge Pillow for Acid Reflux, 3-in-1 Incline Wedge Pillow for After Surgery, Snoring, Back Pain(Grey) https://a.co/d/fIceFJ3
Dr. Simmonds is very straight forward. No bells or whistles haha. From consultation to surgery he will tell you what he can and cannot do, which I appreciate. You always want a doctor to be honest and realistic. Another patient wrote that he does not do alot of hand holding which I would agree with. However I am also in medicine and I at times am the same way with my patients, as being straight forward and knowledgeable is more important than babying someone in my opinion. He was very professional from the start and answered all of my questions. The anesthesiologist was beyond awesome. She is a jewel!!!! They use deep sedation which means you are not intubated. I prefer this. He also does local to help with the pain. I didn't use any other narcotics after my surgery. I did not need them. I am post op day one and walking fine, slightly hunched. One thing that I found hilarious is at the end of the initial consultation Dr. Simmonds was basically like "you going to do this or not." Not in those exact words but more or less. He sat right there. I actually LOVED that. I still chuckle. He is so straightforward which reminds me of myself. It actually pushed me to book on spot. Some people may find this abrasive, but I found it refreshing. No muss, no fuss, let's get it done. My stomach looks good. Very swollen. I want to add that he is board certified and has done this for a really long time. He does really pretty breasts too from pictures I have seen. I don't intend on having my breasts done (already had them done years ago) but just something I noticed from his pictures. I will post pics in a few days. OH! Forgot to mention.... he gave me a new vagina (as a result of the tuck I guess). That was the 1st thing I noticed (Its lovely and tight). He was a special right now 4999 starting price for tummy tucks. I was happy with what I paid. Pay cash! He gives a discount. I brought cash, not debit card, cash! Make sure you do. Updated on 16 Nov 2020: These pics are from day 7 and 12 po. If u want ur waist very snatched like lipo 360 this ain’t it. There is a limit on how much you can lipo with a tt. But I didn’t want hanging skin. I prefer tummy tuck. My waist will narrow with time. I’m still swollen. Be careful with lipo 360 if u have had kids. First it looks good then it’ll sag. This is why for my I knew better. All things to consider but choose what’s best for you. Updated on 16 Nov 2020: I wanted to add this for whoever it may help. Before my TT my body shape was rectangle. With stretch pants holding me in I looked cute (even with my tummy-I just had a baby several months ago), I am short barely 5'4. I had more of a boy shape which annoyed me but I have big thighs which helped. Now I just make the cut off for a spoon shape or hour glass. So in bra I wear 38 b. My actual measurements now swollen only 13 days post op are 41-36- 44. Without swelling my waist is even smaller especially after compressing overnight etc. Ill say at the end it will prob be 2-3 inches smaller once swelling goes away in several months. Updated on 1 Dec 2020: week 4! getting better and better. Still alot of swellling. Hoping in the net few months to see a. bigger difference and work out more. I did one light spin on my bike and lower body work. Just taking it slow Updated on 20 Dec 2020: current measurements 41.5-34-43 as of a few days ago swelling going down everyday. will update in a few weeks and I started working out. I am less sore everyday. I am expecting in the end , about 6months from now my waist to be around a 30 (due to working out and swelling going away). hopefully
I’m currently 2 weeks post op from my abdominoplasty with Dr. Simmonds. It included muscle repair and liposuction of the flanks. As of today everything is healing nicely and I’m very happy with my results. Dr. Simmonds is a very skilled plastic surgeon but he is also “no nonsense” in his approach. If you’re a very anxious personality or need a lot of reassurance or handholding he may not be the doctor for you. He is also one of the most affordable plastic surgeons for a tummy tuck in the Valley but you won’t get a hack job like some of the procedures you see from out of the country or from unqualified/under qualified doctors. I’m truly grateful that I was able to afford to finally fix my stomach after two kids and two c-sections. I wouldn’t have been able to do that without Dr. Simmonds! Thank you Doctor. Updated on 7 Oct 2020: I’m currently 6 weeks post op and healing well without complications. I’m a firm believer in wearing compression the whole 6 weeks, I feel it made a huge difference in residual post op swelling. This picture is end of day at 6 weeks post op and first day with no compression... I’m still flat! I’m currently using silicone tape for scars. I tend to scar dark with anything from acne to a small cut. Very happy with my results. My self esteem and confidence hasn’t been this high since I was a teenager!
Tomorrow is my consultation. I am so nervous. My biggest weight was 290lbs. My current weight is 196lbs. My goal weight before TT is 180lbs. I am hoping to plan this for July-September of 2018. I feel that if I can pay for and schedule this surgery now, it will give me that much more push to lose the last 16lbs that needs to go. I am still not comfortable posting a picture, but I probably will once I see how tomorrow goes. Mood: Anxious AF I don't know if anyone even reads these for real (i do, but i am a dork)-- but I will be sure to do a detailed review for you guys. :) Updated on 14 Aug 2018: So I set a date. I’m kinda nervous excited anxious paranoid and super happy all at the same time. What’s the word for that?! I am hoping my boyfriend doesn’t flake out in driving me and taking care of me the first 48 haha ... I have so many emotions going on right now. Anyways I was told I need 2 blood tests and I’m getting surgery. I’m excited .Updated on 20 Aug 2018: Well I am so close. I got all my consents to sign. I got a lab order to get a CBC and BMP. I hope everything goes well- my surgeon had some good reviews and i liked his work and his no nonsense personality. I’m kinda freaking out tho.Updated on 9 Sep 2018: So I go in to meet with my PS again on 9/11. I am super nervous and I really want this to go well. I looked online and LabCorp already sent him over my blood work results so, WE SHALL SEE! Updated on 12 Sep 2018: My blood work results were amazing. My PS took new pics since I lost an extra 20-25lbs since my consult and I hit my goal weight of 175, but fluctuations make me go to 180 on some days. We discussed the location of the scars hip to hip and he explained the navel would be a separate wound. I explained that I didn’t have the money for the FDL and that I raised $1700 of my fees via social media. He seems confident that he can give me a new body. I received my pain medicines rxs and post op instructions. I’m hoping for the best. Updated on 3 Nov 2018: I did it. It wasn’t easy but it wasn’t that bad. I feel like my Mons was lifted too high (i feel like it’s a little kid private) but I feel eventually gravity will pull that back down. I’m not perfectly symmetrical but I’m overall happy with the procedure and the healing is coming along well.

The whole entire process from start to finish was AMAZING! I had a very positive experience, Dr. Simmonds and his assistant were very imformative and helpful with all my questions and concerns. The operation went better then I had expected and I am very extremely happy with the end results my breasts have never looked better!!!
I can never get rid of the excess skin although I worked very hard with diet and exercise to lose 100 pounds finally got to my goal weight and after two pregnancies shopped around for somebody I would be able to afford, the surgeon is talented and knows what he's doing I don't have anything good to say about his office staff but if you're on a budget and you're looking for good doctor this is probably the one for you. Updated on 1 Jun 2014: I LOOK AMAZING!!!!!!!! :) :) :) ill post more after drains out. QUICK TIP:you will want to rent or borrow wheelchair to get from the car into your house post-surgery unless you can park right in front of your door. Also forget about doing anything at all that first week, it won't happen.I barely remember it! Updated on 21 Aug 2015: Dr. Simmons did my surgery roughly 1 year ago I'm still very happy with the results really helped me stay with my exercise program get me motivated and stay healthy as you can see I still look amazing, you can actually see my stomach muscles and this is after 100 pound weight loss in 2 kids
Hello everyone! I am 6 days post op tummy tuck. Tonight as I was going to bed I felt a tug on my pubic hair ( sorry if tmi) but I went to investigate and there is yellow crust under my drains and in the creases where my lady area meets my thighs. My drains have barely any output but my PS won't take them out until I'm 2 weeks post op. thanks for any input
Hello, Ladies first I would like to say thank you all for your posting and the pictures you put up without them I don’t think I would have made this decision :)… I’m a 38 year old mother of 3 I had my first child at 18 and don’t even remember what my stomach looked like as a teen :( My surgery is on 2/14 what a valentine day for my fiancé lol. I am soooO happy I am doing IT. Will put up pic ASAP.
On viewing your photos your breasts are somewhat low. Your left breast is lower than your right. If you want your breasts to be just bigger and remain at the same level they are than I would recommend just implants. However, if you want your breast to be perkier and more symmetrical than I would recommend a Doughnut Mastopexy lift. The scars for this procedure require a incision around your areola. The left breast could be lifted more than the right to gain more symmetry
The difference is the shape of the implants. The 445cc high profile implants will be narrower in diameter and will project more away from your body. The 450cc moderate implant will be flatter in projection and wider in diameter. The difference of 5 cc's of volume would be very hard to notice.
I have found the best way a patient can evaluate and choose implant size is trying on implants sizers in my office with a camisole top that has a elastic self. If you don't have access to implant sizers you can measure out the cc's you are considering, using rice in a measuring cup, and place it in a plastic baggie then try it on in the camisole. It is a crude method but it will give you an idea how it will look after surgery.
I am personally not a big fan of textured implants for two reasons. First as you mentioned the risk of associated BIA -ALCL . Second when textured implants are placed you get ingrowth of the tissue into the textured portion of the implants. The implants will not move naturally and will give you a stuck on look. If the procedure is done correctly there is a very little risk of synmastia with either type implant.
It all depends on how perky you want your breasts. The perkier the breast , the more time it takes in the OR, the more scars. I would recommend a doughnut mastopexy vs a keyhole mastopexy with implants depending on the degree of lift you are looking for.
