I have severe fibrosis in my abdomen after lipo. I have had several consults (pictures and in person) and everyone keeps saying it is swelling. I don't think it is swelling it has been 18 months since my last lipo. I have spent hundreds of dollars on compression garments, massages, endermologie and carboxy therapy with minimal results. I had a biopsy of one the areas and the report states "dense scar tissue". Am I going to be deformed forever? I have had lipo/bbl/TT 2016, more lipo 5/2017
Answer: Post liposuction contour irregularities Form reviewing your photos (and Not knowing your medical history) , you were a much better candidate for abdominoplasty with or without liposuction than you were for liposuction alone. With the Abdominoplasty, the surgeon would have addressed the loose skin, the stretch marks and the mild muscle laxity, in order to flatten your tummy, narrow your waist, and to optimize your potential hour glass figure. One of the most efficacious treatments at this point is still to perform abdominoplasty! Surely the skin flap will be stuck down but board certified surgeons are comfortable treating this presentation. Don't skimp or compromise again. Do what is needed not just what has the smallest incision. And what ever you do, don't opt for more liposuction or fat grafting as the final treatment because neither will optimize the mid-sectional contour.

Answer: Uneven after liposuction Dear GaPeach47,I would have to examine you but it appears that this is a contour irregularity after liposuction. This happens often when areas the undergo liposuction are not feathered appropriately. The good news is that it can be fixed and I have done so with good results before. The revision can often be done under local as well. While there is always a chance for contour irregularities with liposuction, someone who takes their time and uses the appropriate sized cannulas should give you a superb result.I have all my patients wear compression garments and I use multiple sized cannulas to feather out the result. Answer: Lipo repair It is unlikely that any further liposuction or fat grafting can improve your situation. One option is to redo your tummy tuck, thereby releasing all scar tissue that is causing all the contour irregularities. You would have a vertical scar from the umbo down, but this may be worth it to improve your abdominal skin contour.

Answer: Full Tummy tuck after swelling resolved I am sorry that you are having issues with the liposuction. The problem is that you were not a good candidate for liposuction in 2017. There were too much tissue to do liposuction alone. I would recommend in person consultation after the swelling resolved. You will need tummy tuck. Your before picture from 2016 and 2017 would be helpful. Please see the link.

Answer: Fibrosis I am so sorry to hear of this very unusual problem. I have seen a similar issue just once and much more localized to the bottom caused by poor blood supply in a smoker. It did get better over 2 years.Clearly, more lipo surgery will not make this better. A new tummy tuck will not make this better at this time.At least a year probably 2 for the tissue to soften if it ever will. I wish I could give you better news. One possibility would be fat grafting. This would not be recommended for the average plastic surgeon.I would go to a national expert at a university setting.Good luck
