I’m 23 years old, Chinese, 5’4 and 125 pounds. I’ve always had chubby cheeks and they’re especially noticeable when I smile. I’m also considering chin lipo but not sure which would be more beneficial for me. I’m worried that the buccal fat removal will create a sunken look in my cheeks
Answer: Why buccal fat removal may be right for you Thank you for your question and photos. You may benefit most from buccal fat removal to reduce chubby cheeks and slenderize the lower third portion of your face. This procedure can improve your cheek and jawline definition while reducing fullness to create a more sculpted and balanced appearance. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to discuss your concerns and goals with you to determine the best treatment option.

Answer: Good candidate You have a bit of fullness just under the cheek so that is the main area BFR will target. You can see that little bit of rounding in the middle between jawline and cheek prominence. I don't see a need for submental lip, jawline lipo or jawline contouring may help make the jawline a bit sharper, but depends on the look you are going for. A conservative removal will help define the jawline and cheek better.

Answer: My FAV! Listen, there are certain anatomies that just cannot get overly sculpted and hallowed. Asian is one of them. Google deposit fat pad. The buccal fat is a deposit fat pad and gets bigger with age. It gets bigger with age. Leads to a bull dog look. In combo with chin lipo it can really saddle the mandible.

Answer: Buccal fat removal in Asians This is a common complaint in the Asian population: Your chubby cheeks would be corrected more with buccal fat removal than chin liposuction. Chin liposuction addresses excess fat than you can pinch underneath your chin, right above your neck. It does not address excess chubby cheeks. The buccal fat removal would lessen your chubby cheeks just lateral to your smile. It does not remove from the cheek above your smile. In younger patients buccal fat removal is less likely to give you a sunken look to your cheek. This is also variable based on surgeon technique. A sunken look is more likely to happen with more elderly patients and with extreme weight loss after procedure.

Answer: Buccal Fat Removal Good Morning! Buccal fat removal can be a great option to create slimming of the face. The result is subtle and this needs to be emphasized. An incision is made within the inside of the cheek and the fat is removed. It's often described as the size of a walnut. The incision is closed with dissolvable stitches and the results start to appear at 3-5 weeks. It's relatively painless other than chewing discomfort for several days. This may accomplish what you're looking for. Seek consultation with a Facial Plastic Surgeon to learn more. Hope this helps!
