Is there anything to be done if my doctor did a bad FUE and is blaming me for the issue he created? (Photos)

The doctor is also asking for more money to fix it? I had approx. 3,200 grafts done 2.5 years ago. He did not connect my temples and hairline and the hair he did put there grows straight out. I went for follow up and he told me he would fix it for a ton more money. Wondering if there’s anything I can do or if another Dr. can help me. Its ruining my self confidence and the fact he’s telling me it’s not his fault is ridiculous.

It may be best to find another doctor who understands your goals and expectations. You need to have good communication with your doctor to understand what your end result will look like.

The good news is this is a relatively easy fix. Connecting the temporal hair and hair line should not take that many grafts, and if this is the pattern before your procedure, should be covered by what you initially paid.

It is really hard to know what is going on here as we were not there for your original procedure nor do we know what was actually done. The fact remains that you are now showing ongoing hair loss in areas outside of your transplant.  Did it look like that after your surgery? How about at year one? We don't know so we really cannot comment. The other issue that has been brought up is: are you continuing with the hair saving techniques that were brought up at your consultation: finasteride, minoxidil, laser therapy, PRP, etc?  Finally, do you have good communication with your original surgeon? If yes, go back and discuss this. If not, you're free to get a 2nd opinion.  Best of luck to you.

Hi there, sorry to hear this is affecting your confidence. I would be interested to know if you are taking any medications to prevent further hair recession. Your surgeon may have originally connected the hairline to the temples but you could have receded behind this if you were not taking medications to prevent hair loss. I would have this discussion with your surgeon. If they are not being helpful then of course seek a second opinion. All the best

Based upon your pictures I would say that you certainly need more grafts to fill in the connection. If this doctor is charging you a lot then perhaps find someone else who is charging you the same? We have a travel program and grafts that start at $5.50 so sometime leaving your local area can be your best place to start. In general you won't get your money back or super discounted services since that is the nature of the work...though I'd agree with you that it doesn't look very good. Hope that helps.

Based on the wording of your question and on your previous ones, it's obvious that you have lost confidence in your surgeon and no longer trust him/her.  You would do better to be evaluated in person.  I would suggest you get copies of your records and preop photos and get another opinion, or several others.

It looks like you may have developed balding behind the hair transplants and that could have caused your problem. If that is the case, then your surgeon is not to blame and another hair transplant should solve the problem. If you don't like your present surgeon, find another good surgeon.
