Hi, I am scheduled for a Liposuction in one week in my Lower, Upper abdomen and flank. My surgeon recommend also to do my inner thighs. I am in the average BMI ((162cm and 55kg) but have a stubborn lower abdomen pocket for as long as I can remember. I don't have the thigh "gap" but it's normal looking. Should i consider the thigh lipo too?
Answer: Inner thigh lipo with abdominal liposuction Liposuction of the inner thighs can be done safely at the time of abdominal liposuction and the two areas are often treated at the same time. You indicate that you feel that your thighs look normal and are bothered by your tummy. It's important to treat the area that bothers you, and not add areas just because they can be done at the same time.

Answer: Liposuction candidate Dear RuAluck, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Medial thigh liposuction This is a question only you may answer. IF the thighs are thicker or touch and bother you, then YES, by all means have them liposuctioned. If they do not bother you then leave them alone. The addition of medial thigh liposuction when doing the abdomen is easy as you only add one more incision to the pubic area (I do not place incisions on the thighs which may show)! Best wishes. Answer: Inner thigh Liposuction About the anatomic areas we offer Liposuction inner thighs is One of the areas that offers least patient satisfaction. There are exceptions. Young people with tight skin can have moderate improvements. The upper inner thighs tends to have skin laxity and removing the fat still leaves the skin dropping and bulging due to gravity. Inner thigh liposuction is best done with patients laying on their side and the type of anesthesia has a big impact on delivering quality results. Before adding inner thighs or for that matter having any Liposuction I would first and foremost make sure your doctor is exceptionally talented and has sufficient skill with Liposuction. This means during in person consultations patients should ask their provider to show their entire collection of liposuction before and after pictures including all the anatomic areas you’re interested in treating. The goal is not to see the best three or four outcomes of their career but instead to get an idea of what the best results look like, average results look like and what it looks like when the results are not as good as what we had hoped for. You also need to get an idea of how many of these procedures your surgeon has performed. That is best done by seeing the collection a before and after pictures. An experienced surgeon should have no difficulty showing you 50 or more sets of before and after pictures for this procedure in each anatomic area you’re interested in. Highly experienced surgeons will have several hundred or possibly thousands. Delivering consistent high-quality Liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe. The results are permanent and irreversible. I cannot stress enough the importance of choosing the most talented and skilled providers for these procedures. Because Liposuction is a common procedure all plastic surgeons will claim to know how to do it but from what I see average results are not particularly good. When done by talented providers Liposuction results can be spectacular but the other side of the story is a bit troublesome. For that reason I recommend everybody have multiple in person consultations before committing to having surgery and specifically asking providers to show their entire collection of before and after pictures. I also recommend reading all the various physician reviews on all physician review websites. Avoid providers for any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than an abundance of positive reviews. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Candidacy for liposuction of inner thighs? Hi and welcome to our forum! If you are not dissatisfied with the appearance of your thighs, LEAVE THEM ALONE! Don't undergo surgery in an area other than your areas of concern to placate your surgeon. From a technical standpoint, the thighs can be included in your procedure if the volume of aspirate is not excessive. Each state in the US has laws regarding the maximum safe limits of liposuction allowed in one sitting.Best wishes...
