I am due to have my implants removed in 5 days but have developed oral thrush (I've had it before) should I delay my surgery?

Your plastic surgeon has been informed that you have been diagnosed with oral thrush and is prescribing strong antibiotics three days prior to surgery.  If the antibiotic does not resolve the condition, your surgeon may recommend that you reschedule. Thank you for sharing your question.  In cases of an elective surgical procedure it would be wise to clear any residual infection to help maximize your medical condition.  Talk to your surgeon though as they know the full details of your health history and anticipated operation.  Hope this helps.

It is best to have all infection cleared before surgery.  The best person to advise you is your surgeon.  Hopefully you can receive treatment right away and be ok for surgery.

I'm sorry to hear about the problem you are experiencing.   Only your plastic surgeon will be able to advise you whether or not surgery delay will be necessary. In my practice, I would want you to be problem free before undergoing elective surgery. Hopefully, you will be able to undergo treatment and be able to proceed as scheduled. Best wishes.
