7 days post op Tumescent Liposuction, I'm still very swollen and still bruising! Any suggestions

Liposuction is the kind of procedure that has a lot of swelling associated with it and it may take up to 3-4 months to notice the end results.  My advice to you is to be patient and you will notice a decrease in the swelling on a daily basis.

Your body sees this area as having been injured. It responds with swelling. Patients have different amounts of swelling. You need to wait 3 to 6 months to see your final results. Usually, at about six weeks, you can start to get a pretty good idea of what things will look like.

Too early in the healing process. Traditional liposuction in the first week will result in pain, swelling and bruising.  Minimize activities and use your compression binder.  Final results will take 6-12 months. 

Hi, there. It is normal to be swollen and bruised after liposuction.  You are only 7 days post-op from liposuction.  The result of liposuction may take up to 3 months. In addition, every patient may heal differently as everyone's body is different and his/her surgery is performed by different surgeon.  I ask my liposuction patients to wear compression garment and to massage the area.  Please check with your plastic surgeon about his/her post-operative care/recommendation.  Good luck with your recovery. 

Swelling after liposuction is common.  Some patient become much more swollen than others.  It usually takes a couple of months before the final results of liposuction are visible.   Good luck with your continued recovery. 

In most patients, by 7 days, you will still be swollen and bruised but I would expect you to see some improvement in the contour of the abdomen. Its too early to make any definitive conclusions. It is difficult to say without knowing what you looked like preop and what was done exactly.  Some patients have visceral fat as well which can not be treated by lipo giving a roundish appearance to the abdomen.
