In reality, the effects of Botox and PDO threads on the position of the eyebrows is minimal. That is why the use of PDO threads in the U.S. by cosmetic practices is not widespread. Surgeons who routinely perform blepharoplasty surgery use multiple methods to determine the correct amount of skin removal taking into consideration multiple factors including recent Botox or threads. There is no reason to delay surgery.
The lift of brows from Botox or threads can hamper the correct estimation of amount of skin to be removed from the upper eyelids. Make your surgeon aware of the procedures you have done and at the minimum wait for the Botox to wear off. During consultation your doctor might have you relax your brow by pushing on it and then assessing the exact amount of extra skin in the upper eyelids.RegardsDr. J
You are asking a good question! For patients of mine who present for upper eyelid blepharoplasty and brow lift I routinely inject Botox preoperatively. The effects of PDO threads in the forehead are going to be short lived (probably around 9 months) but during the time that they are in place the eyebrow will be elevated and that may change the amount of skin available to remove during upper eyelid blepharoplasty. I would recommend waiting until the PDO threads effects have diminished and then have upper eyelid surgery along with a brow lift for best results.
yes, any work on the forehead can change the results of a blepharoplasty procedure. Probably best to separate these procedures out approximately six months. It does not matter which procedures come first or last.
The very seldom represent an infection. While it is common for ophthalmologists to offer surgery for these, many will resolve on their own. Those that don’t can be treated with a kenalog injection, avoiding the need for surgery.
Hi @siwo! I recommend starting Arnica pills two days prior to surgery and continuing until completion of the bottle. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
Thank you for the great question and your photos. I agree with the others here: you have a nice eye shape and good structure, with minimal skin excess. For the current situation, the best answer is likely medical grade skin care (including a retinol that can be used around the eyes as well as...
I am not sure it is even worse the discomfort of the service. This is a white scar because your surgeon made the incision very high in the thicker brow skin, The scar is clean (but white). I am not sure revisioning this scar will get it to be any less conspicuous. It is not visible with your...
Hi @RennyS! I recommend removing the sutures 6-7 days post-op. I would confirm this with your surgeon. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!
