I am considering a chin implant while getting my Invisalign. Will the Invisalign affect the appearance of the chin implant?

I am starting my invisalign, which will last two years from now. My dentist told me it will bring out my chin by a couple of millimeters at the end of two years. I also want to get a chin implant six months into my invisalign, so is this a good idea or should I wait until my invisalign procedure is done since the size of my chin might be bigger than expected by a few millimeters? Will a few millimeters make a difference in the face appearance?

It is hard to imagine that correction of teeth alignment may affect chin growth to that degree in adult person? Regardless of that, 2 mm will not make any difference regarding chin augmentation with implant. I see no reason why you should not have chin augmentation while still undergoing Invisalign treatment. In person consultation with an expert in chin augmentation is recommended. Good luck.

A chin implant can be performed while you're undergoing invisaine. The invisaline is moving the teeth, which will not have any bearing on the mandible bone itself

There is no correlation between the position of the upper and lower teeth, within the limits of what Invisilign does, and how the chin projection looks. So there is no adverse effects of having active Invisilign therapy and undergoing a chin augmentation procedure.

I have done well over 500 chin implants in the past 25 years on patients with all different bite and orthognathic issues. Most basic chin implant work is not affected at all by dental appliances to straighten and align the teeth , as a matter of fact, the invisalign and dental straightening will enhance both your profile and the new chin implant....not create any issues. A 1-2 mm projection of the chin from the dental work, which i don't think will happen, would be insignificant anyway. In other words go ahead and get the chin implant and do the dental work as scheduled, and do not be concerned that the appearance will change for the worse.
