Thank you for your question. Swelling after liposuction can be quite noticeable in the first several weeks after surgery. Within the first week, it can look as if nothing has been done. Make sure to follow your surgeon's recommendations and instructions. Contact them if you have concerns. Congratulations on your recent surgery.
The healing process in general can take up to one month for the majority of #swelling to subside, incisions to close, sutures to come out, and for bruising to completely go away.It is not uncommon to be experiencing some #lumps following neck and chin procedures. Some degree of firmness or lumpiness under the skin is normal after surgery and will resolve with time. Local #massage of the areas may accelerate the resolution of this problem, which normally takes 2-4 months to disappear completely. The lumps should diminish with time. If not, your doctor can provide suggestions for this concern. In-office medi-spa treatments may be an option. Your incisions will go through many changes before seeing the final result of your procedure. But, it's best to be patient in the meantime. If during your healing, you have any concerns, it is suggested to call your board-certified surgeon or their medical staff and discuss those #concerns.
Thanks for your question. There are a number of variables that can affect the amount of swelling that a patient experiences after cervical liposuction: the amount of tumescent solution injected, the technology used (laser, US, hi def), the amount of adipose tissue... Because the amount of fat removed from the neck is usually modest (compared to other body sites), swelling can often obscure the result in the early post operative period. 5 days is simply too soon to expect to see much of a change. Consider that most plastic surgeons only judge the results of a procedure after months to a year! Having said that, most patients have significant improvements in swelling and can appreciate some of their results within 4-6 weeks. Thereafter things slowly improve. Try to be patient, and discuss any concerns directly with your surgeon.
Hey there mismollie49! Hope you are having a good morning so far. I see that you are a little frustrated and over your neck. Thank you for your photo and questions. You are a candidate for a facelift. This would address your neck greatly. If you did just lipo, it would make the skin worse....
From your photos, it appears you would be an excellent candidate for SmartLipo, aka laser assisted liposuction. SmartLipo is different from traditional liposuction, as a laser is first utilized to melt the fat under the chin prior to suctioning. The laser not only melts the fat , but also h...
Liposuction under the chin is best performed for diet resistant fat present in the neck. Its best to lose the weight first, and then undergo liposuction. For more information and many before and after examples of neck liposuction, please see the link and the video below
