I have very slight lateral displacement of left breast after allergen sientra 335 full profile implants 6 months ago. In general, with mild displacement at this time would it be possible to add stitches to the pocket and fix the displacement without having to replace the implant? I am trying to avoid exorbitant cost but the slight displacement is causing a bit of drooping of tissue on the inner/lower portion of breast because there is no implant there it is pushed to the side.
Answer: Displacement I would suggest being seen by your surgeon. You can try wearing an underwire bra that holds the breast in place, but at 6 months, you are fairly healed. Otherwise the implant could be removed and the pocket repaired.

Answer: Implant displacement Dear Virginian, Thanks for your question, however, it would have been helpful to see the front and side view pictures of your chest. To correct you problem you do not have to replace the implant, but rather have internal bra procedure. This require an excision of a sleeve from the capsule at the displacement area followed by suturing with non absorbing sutures. This technique will reduce the size of the pocket , bring in the lateral margin and raise the inferior lateral crease. Always consult with experienced board certified plastic surgeons who operate in accredited surgery center for your safety. Most importantly, check the before and after pictures in the photo gallery to make sure that they are numerous, consistent , attractive and symmetrical. Best of luck, Dr Widder widderplasticsurgery.com

Answer: Revision surgery Dear Persistent637128, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: Slight lateral displacement one breast - Can it be fixed without replacing the implant? I generally don't feel that it is wise to reoperate within 1 year. If the change is only slight, then the risks of another surgery so soon might outweigh the benefits. I recommend you continue to discuss the options with your surgeon and recommend a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon
