Answer: Fat Liposuction can be done to remove any excess fat, especially in areas where it was placed too high. Please discuss this with your surgeon.

Answer: Fat lumps Dear greendot, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Breast fat transfer You didn’t tell us how long ago your surgery was. it takes three months for fat transfer results to give a final outcome. Typically revision work should not be done within the first six months. If you are at least three months out from surgery then don’t expect the results to change by waiting further. Firm nodules that most likely represent a fat necrosis cannot be removed with Liposuction and if they need to be removed typically requires an open excision. Fat grafted into fat can be reduced with Liposuction. Fat grafted into the pectoralis muscle cannot. Fat transfer is not a good procedure for shaping the breast. It simply doesn’t do that well and the procedure can give increased volume if diffusely grafting the breast but attempts at using this procedure to spot treat the breast or treat only certain areas tends to not work out the way patients and providers had anticipated. I have a feeling you’re probably fairly early out from the procedure and the problem may simply go away by waiting further. Delivering consistent quality liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people believe. I continue to worn patients to be highly selective when it comes to choosing providers for these procedures and only choose providers with a proven track record. This means having multiple in person consultations at which time patients should I ask the provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures to get a clear understanding of what the average results look like in the hands of each provider. If you’re asking for something unusual like having fat grafted in only part of your breast then you should ask for before and after pictures of other patients who have had this done successfully with long-term follow up. Personally I do not graft certain segments of the breast. The procedure simply doesn’t work well for creating volume in the upper half of the breast. Patients who need that should choose implants which is the correct procedure. If a lift is indicated then a lift is indicated. Without knowing how far out you are from surgery it doesn’t make much sense to make guesses or assessments or recommendations. Follow up with your provider who is ultimately responsible for the outcome of the procedure. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
