Conflicting options and opinions from consultations - which procedure will be the most beneficial at this time? (Photos)
Hello — first, thank you so much for your time. I’m a 50-year-old single mother of two, pivoting from a career in the creative field to finishing a first-generation bachelor’s degree in business. After losing 80 pounds and being just a few months from graduation, I’m ready to upgrade my outside to match my new inside. I’ve had numerous consultations but find myself confused by the varying options I’ve been presented with. My budget is tight, and while I understand a full facelift is likely the most advisable path, I’m wondering whether a mid-face procedure or neck lift could reasonably address my most pressing concerns as a priority-based, budget-conscious starting point. My main questions are: ∙ Would a neck lift with fat grafting under twilight sedation be appropriate, or is that an incomplete approach given my overall goals? ∙ Is it fair to say that a more limited procedure now — addressing the neck and jowls first — could be a practical interim step, or does that approach create diminishing returns down the road? ∙ I don’t want to do a more limited procedure only to find myself back in 2–3 years watching the upper face decline. Is my timing off? Is a 5–7 year window more realistic before the upper face becomes a real concern — or can I reasonably get away with a neck-focused procedure for now? One important note: I carry the MC1R gene and have gone under general anesthesia twice. Medications tend to be less effective for me and metabolize very quickly.
