I'm interested in Kybella but heard mixed reviews. Primarily the Jawline not contracting back. My personal concern is that the left side Of my jawline is loosing contour in contrasted with my right. Which I believe is "primarily" from bone loss due to loosing (2) baby teeth, in the last few years. I now have a dental bridge. With this in mind: #1 Am I a good candidate for Kybella? #2 Why are some patients left with horrible results? #3 Recommended number of syringes needed? Thank You!
Answer: Kybella Dear Fierce36Pics, Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella. Answer: Jawline Definition / Jawline Enhancement / Facial Sculpting / Facial Contouring -- injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa For a more defined jawline to strengthen your profile (and help prevent the dreaded jawline "jowl" sagging), we use injectable fillers like Revanesse Versa - a filler known to limit swelling and give subtle, soft enhancements - or Radiesse. Using a cannula to limit pain and swelling, we inject on the bone in strategic points to get more lift and shaping, resulting in a more contoured lower face and defined, structured jawline. I would suggest getting a formal evaluation with a facial sculpting expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Kybella for under chin Hi - its a bit hard for me to tell by your photos, but it looks like you would benefit from a small amount of kybella. You could start with one vial then reassess in a couple of months. I hope this helps. Dr. Brown

Answer: Chin and neck evaluation To make an assessment regarding someone’s chin and neck we need standard frontal and profile pictures. Kybella is inferior to Liposuction by pretty much every measure. From the picture it doesn’t look like excess of subcutaneous fat is a substantial problem in this area. Premature Jowls, Black of Jawline and showing a double chin tends to be more related to facial bone structure. In particular those with a mandible that is small in relationship to their Maxilla. Only about 2% of the population have something that resembles as symmetrical face. Most people have substantial facial asymmetry and the primary source of a symmetry tends to be skeletal. This in combination with age is probably what brought you here. I’m not a dentist so I can’t speak on behalf of tooth loss and the implication for bone loss. To get a quality assessment I suggest scheduling a few in person consultations with local board certified plastic surgeons or oral surgeons. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Answer: Kybella Hello, and thanks for your question. You are certainly a candidate for Kybella. And to answer your questions, most patients receive excellent results, it is only on the rare occurrence that someone's biochemistry does not do well with this medication. The recommended number of syringes just depends on how many milligrams are in each syringe. Your doctor will know how many do-they will most likely start out with a few and have you come back again to get another round depending on what your results are. Please see a board-certified surgeon for best results. Best of luck to you!
