Hello, I am contemplating getting the O Shot due to vaginal dryness. Im 36 and had a total hysterectomy last year that left both ovaries. My estrogen levels have been checked and are low but not quite menopausal. Starting in April of this year I noticed significant reduction in vaginal lubrication. Would this procedure be beneficial to my issue?

hello, just o-shot is not enough for vaginal dryness. Prp procedure should also be applied inside the vagina. My recommendation is to perform mesotherapy inside the vagina. It is very useful in premenopausal patients whose estrogen levels have just started to fall.

O-shot works best for decreased sensation to enhance orgasms. It also helps with mild urinary incontinence. I would recommend vaginal Estrogen or Fractional Co2 Laser like Monalisa Touch, Diva laser, or Femilift. They will give you a better result for vaginal dryness and increased lubrication.

Yes, the O shot has been found to be beneficial in treating vaginal dryness for a period of 12-18 months. Other considerations my be low dose vaginal estrogen and/or testosterone. Always find a provider experienced in hormone replacement therapy to discuss. Hope this helps.

The O shot, which is platelet rich plasma injection, is an excellent treatment for vaginal dryness particularly when used in combination with a vaginal rejuvenation procedure such as ThermiVa. We have used this combination on even advanced cases over the course of the past 9 years with excellent outcomes. It is very important the the PRP be prepared with a high volume blood draw and a very high quality kit such as the Emcyte Pure PRP II. This will ensure that a sufficient dose of platelets will be delivered in order to stimulate the formation of new blood vessels which is important to the successs of the treatment. We are able to test a patient's platelet count through a fingerstick in the office and use a sophisticated computer program that calculates the volume of blood draw needed, based on the platelet count, to deliver and adequate number of platelets for the procedure. We also test the platelet count in the PRP we produce o document the dose given for either the O shot (for women) or the P shot (for men)

Yes, an O-shot may help with vaginal lubrication by increasing blood flow to the tissues and rejuvenating the cells. However, just because your hormones aren't "menopausal" doesn't mean they don't need to be optimized. Generally, women with optimized hormones get better results from an O-Shot.
