Looking to get 600cc gummy bear implants tear drop over the muscle. Would that suit my body? (photos)

From
your photographs, your breasts are low on the chest wall because of the weight
loss.  Adding 600 cc implants, which
weigh over 1 lb each, will add further descent to your breasts and you will be
dissatisfied.  I recommend The Bellesoma

implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase
your cleavage.  Vertical scars are
avoided, nipple sensation and the ability to breast feed are maintained.  At the same time or later, fat transfers can

It is very difficult without assessing you in person to know what implant size will be a good size for you. Keep in mind that implant size selection not only depends on your personal preference, but it also depends on your unique measurements. There are various types of implants that can help you attain the look you are going for. A thorough consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon will allow you to communicate what your desired result is and will inform you as to what is possible to achieve your goals. Hello and thank you for your question. You are a great candidate
for a breast augmentation.  The size, profile, and shape of the
implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall
measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should
be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you
and your surgeon.  There are several
advantages and disadvantages to over vs under the muscle.  Under the
muscle has the advantage of lower capsular contracture rates, less risk
of rippling, and better visualization with future mammograms.  Most
patients say that under the muscle also has a more natural look and
feel.  This entire surgery
can be performed with a small incision technique.  Make sure you
specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have
had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most important aspect is to find a
surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a
qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

Your breasts cannot support a 600 cc implant. The distance from nipple to fold needs to be at least 11 cm to 12 cm; your appears much shorter. Go visit a few ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeons who specialize in breast surgery. Best of luck!

Dear alyssamaiello,Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.Daniel Barrett, MD

Thank you for your question and photos.  It really depends on what look you wish to achieve.  I would recommend under the muscle versus over for a variety of reasons.  As for size, it would depend on what look you wish to achieve and what your breast measurements entail.  Best of luck to you.

600cc is quite a large implant size. It's hard to judge just from pictures, but you are quite tall and depending on your frame (chest/shoulder width) and weight, they could look great, albeit large. However, since you don't currently have a lot of breast tissue it could be appropriate. So it depends on what look you're going for but also keep in mind that larger implants are  heavier and may strain your back muscles. I suggest going to a consultation and bringing a sports bra so that you can try on different sizes at your surgeon's office and you can see how the 600cc implants will look and feel on your body. The other suggestion I have is to talk to your surgeon about why you want to place the implant over the muscle vs. under it. I place implants on most of my patients under the muscle because it camouflages the implant better and makes it look/feel more natural. There is also a lower risk of capsular contracture compared to implants placed over the muscle. So talk to your surgeon about the reasons why you want the implant placed over the muscle, weight out the risks and benefits, and together, you can choose a location and size appropriate for you.

Smooth over muscle implants do eventually produce the rock in the sock look much more frequently than comparable submuscular implants.  Then there is the increased risks for contractures above the muscle.  SO if you you're dead set on going above the muscle, your consideration of textured anatomic implants from Mentor or Sientra would be safest to avoid the rock in the sock look and provide some durability to your outcome as long as you have no rotation issues.As far as whether its suitable for your body, you need to appreciate what you look like with a 550 cc sizer in an unlined bra in a white shirt and if you look great and your surgeon is able to find a profile that allows for the 600 cc implant size, then its suitable.

I always recommend that patients look at before and after photos of patients with body types similar to theirs to narrow down which size implants they would like. Implant size is a deeply personal choice, which is determined by your desired aesthetic as well as your anatomy (chest size, existing breast tissue, etc.). Since you are a competitive athlete, this should also be a consideration when choosing your implant size. As a general rule of thumb, 120-150cc will increase your breasts by one cup size. Your local board certified plastic surgeon will provide their recommendations for a size that will meet your needs.
