Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring. Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition.Best, Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon

HiYes Micro needling treatments are good for reducing the pore depth and width to give a more even tone to the skin. We recommend using science based skincare which contains Vitamin A to achieve the best results (for example Environ or ZO Obagi). A course of 4-6 at monthly intervals works best.Regarding your filler it will not be affected as the filler is deeper than the skin we treat during treatment.Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question. Yes, microneedling does help fill large pores. I would advise you to schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon for a detailed examination to discuss all possible treatment options and what your expectations are.
I have been performing medical microneedling for over two decades now. Despite claims that it is effective as a monotherapy for acne scarring and for treating ice pick scars and enlarged (dilated) pores, I have found it to be best reserved for treating residual surface color and textural irregularities that persist following other, more appropriate treatments for the foregoing problems. In my experience, dilated pores, much like ice pick scars, respond better to TCA CROSS. Following this, if still deemed necessary or desired, medical microneedling may be used to blend the treated sites better with the surrounding normal skin. Other treatments, such as bells and whistles fraxels and radiofrequency devices simply add to the expense, and to date, the claims for their efficacy remain largely backed by device manufacturer supported marketing hype and little hard science. Hope this helps. Best of luck.
Hello Jens. We are not big fans of microneedling. Yes, it does create an injury and as a result some new collagen can be created, but there is no thermal injury and no real tissue ablation, which are required to get much more of healing response and collagen generation. For this reason, we use full field Erbium resurfacing. It's a deep resurfacing that may take 1-2 weeks to recover from but yields excellent results. Best of luck.
Hello and thank you for your question. Microneedling with or without prp is a great option for pore size. Typically we recommend a series of 3-5 treatments with maintenance treatments 1-2 x per year. Filler in the cheeks is placed deep enough were the microneedling will not affect them!!! Hope this helps!!
Microneedling is one of the best options to help reduce pore size. I like to couple it with PRP to give even better results. Microneedling is best done in a pkg of 4-6 treatments Maintainance is required to keep results with 1 treatment every 4-6 month. Also make sure you are using some type of Vit A cream at night! As far as microneedling affecting the fillers in your cheeks the answer is no. Most fillers are placed deeper then the micro needles reach.
Hello there, I absolutely adore micro needling. I, myself, have received many over the years as a provider, and have seen the results first-hand in myself, as well as my patients. Micro needling can definitely help with large pores, and it will not affect the filler you currently have your cheeks (that is injected much deeper). Pores are also best treated with at-home skincare as well as monthly deep-cleaning facials. By keeping the pores clean, you will allow them to constrict, decreasing their appearance. When they are full of oil/makeup/dirt, it causes an expansion. Collagen stimulation will also help to constrict their appearance as it is stimulated, causing a tightening affect. That being said, genetics play a large part in pore appearance, so there is only so much reduction that can be done. Hope this helps, Sarah RN BSN
Hello and thank you for your question. In my experience microneedling has shown to reduce pore size and is a fairly easy treatment option with little to no downtime. I especially love microneedling when combined with Platelet-Rich Plasma. Our current protocol is to inject as well as microneedle the platelet-rich plasma into the skin for maximum collagen stimulation. Microneedling should have no effect on any filler that is already in your cheeks but I would wait a minimum of 14 days after placement of any filler to have microneedling performed. Good luck and hope this helps.
