Microneedling with exosomes is much more expensive than PRP. Is it worth it or is the stem cell argument just a sales pitch and should I just go for old and tested PRP?
Answer: Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) for Healing / Facial Rejuvenation -- Add Stem Cells for Acne, Wrinkles, Cellulite, Scars, Sun Damage In our practice we refer to PRP as ""liquid gold"" because it provides healing and rejuvenation and is a natural way to improve the appearance of your skin. Platelet-rich plasma is a high concentrate of protein derived from the blood; blood is drawn from the patient and placed in a tube that, once spun in a centrifuge, separates natural growth factors and stem cells from red blood cells. In addition to helping you maintain a fresh, youthful appearance, PRP can address localized conditions such as acne, wrinkles, cellulite, scars, and sun damage, and it's great when used in conjunction with lasers, radiofrequency devices, and microneedling treatments.I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: PRP or exosomes Thank you for your question. Please keep in mind it is best to be seen in office for a consultation to receive the most thorough treatment plan. PRP is wonderful injected or microneedled into the skin for many different concerns. Depending on your assessment, it may be just enough to address your concerns. Exosomes are used in situations where PRP may not provide the most optimal results. Again, this cannot be determined unless you are assessed in person. An experienced, medically trained provider who has used both products for a variety of patients would be able to guide you in the direction best suited for your needs.

Answer: PRP vs Exosomes and is it worth it? Hello and thank you for your question. This is a hard question to answer without going into a lot of detail. To sum it up as best as I can, PRP really works best when injected. It will work well when microneedled into the skin but it truly shines when injected. Exosomes are used topically in most cases. Some companies claim you can inject their serum and some providers may inject them but that is way too much to get into here. The results also depend on how the PRP is prepared as well as the Exosomes. If your provider is using a so so system to harvest your PRP the results will not be good. I recommend going to a provider that uses either a Harvest/Teremo or Emcyte system. These are tested systems that are FDA approved. Same applies to the Exosomes, results vary from manufacture to manufacture. As for the price, a good PRP treatment should not be cheap nor should a good serum with Exosomes. Is it worth it? Well, that's the hard part to answer. We typically inject and microneedle with the PRP alone but offer an option of injecting the PRP only and Microneedling with Exosomes for an additional fee. I have yet to have a complaint. Hope this answer helps.
