IMy husband and I are concerned about the drainage. the right catheter was removed the first week, the l. catheter drains 10 to 100cc in a 12 hour period. am wearing tight binder and a lace up corset. what else can I do to stop this?

Answer: Ongoing drainage thank you for your question. Typically, drains average staying in place 10 days to 2 weeks after an abdominoplasty. If you have liposuction in combination with your tummy tuck, they may need to be in longer. Based on the output you are mentioning, that is still an amount that I would not remove the drain. At some point though, the drain could be causing the fluid to persist and may need to be removed. After removing the drain, it is possible that fluid could accumulate or that your symptoms are evidence of a seroma. Of course, everything I am discussing are generalities and I recommend you follow up closely with your surgeon so they can examine you and make an informed decision on the best approach to proceed with your care. Answer: Drain You should see your surgeon as soon as possible.You should not have a drain 6 weeks post surgery.
