I take Roacutan/Accutane and want to do a liposuction (PAL) local anaesthesia, the doctor assistant said is ok to do it and continue with the pill. I am afraid because I read some threads that it is not ok at all and I should wait a whole year until I do any treatment. Should I get another doctor? I did not pay yet and I am scared now.

Answer: Accutane You should not undergo any surgery until after being off Accutane for 6-12 months. There are serious risks of which the doctor’s assistant may be ignorant.

Answer: Accutane and surgery Well, if you feel like getting scared, get online and read about the potential side effects of Accutane. This is a very powerful drug with a lot of very serious potential side effects. Here is a direct quote from one source:Wax epilation and skin resurfacing procedures (such as dermabrasion, laser) should be avoided during Accutane (isotretinoin) therapy and for at least 6 months thereafter due to the possibility of scarring.I would delay any surgical procedure until 6 months after your last Accutane dose.Good Luck!
