I had CoolSculpting on my flanks yesterday. Did something go wrong?

I had CoolSculpting on my flanks yesterday.They had to use the older applicators as the new ones were too large for me and won't adhere so, it was an hour process.I wore my waist wrap until this morning.I have no sensitivity, no bruising and little swelling and numbness. Did something go wrong? Did it take?

Thank you for your question. It’s common practice to use the older CoolSculpting® applicators if the new ones don’t fit your target area as well. It’s also common for people to experience no negative side effects after their CoolSculpting® treatment, like bruising, swelling or soreness. That’s one reason CoolSculpting® is so popular! It takes 10 to 12 weeks to see results, so be sure to keep up a healthy and active lifestyle in the meantime to maximize your progress. Good luck!

Hello,Thank you for your question. Having minimal after effects does not mean that you will not have results. The flanks are not as sensitive as other areas, and everyone has a different level of reaction. The support garment you used may have helped eliminate some of the discomfort. Good luck!

If the New Contour pieces would not fit that is totally acceptable to still use the legacy applicators. We have had great results on the love handles for a long time with those hour long treatments. That area rarely hurts or bruises so rest assured you not having discomfort in no way means it won't work. Remember it takes 30-90 days to see results so be patient and there is really nothing you need to do except wait! Best of Luck.

Based on what you have described it sounds as though all the appropriate steps were taken to evaluate and give you the best treatment with CoolSculpting. The flank area is known to have the least amount of post procedure symptoms/discomfort while the abdomen the most. As you may know peak results typically aren't seen until about three months out. Be patient and you can expect good results. Be well.

Hi Bandit1031-  It is very common for slimmer patients to resort to the older applicators for the flanks area because it has a slimmer contour.  Most patients can tolerate the CoolSculpting procedure with little or no post-treatment symptoms.  It is common for some patients to experience no sensitivity or bruising and swelling. Maintain a healthy diet and exercise and be sure to followup with your provider in 30-60 days to review your progress and results. My Best, Dr. Basile

Thank you for your question. It is best practice to use the older applicators if you did not have a good fit with the new applicators. Yes it is a longer treatment, but it will give you great results as well. Also, it is completely normal to feel little to no discomfort after Coolsculpting treatments. That is the perk with Coolsculpting, side effect post procedures are minimal. Keep in mind that results are not based on side effects after treatments.
