Abdominal bloating/swelling, weight gain after CoolSculpting?

I had coolsculpting done to my lower abdomen and flank region 3 days ago, initially it was very numb, but now it almost looks like I'm pregnant. My lower abdomen is sticking out more than before..I don't think I've been eating that bad and have been exercising. Is this normal and when does it get better? I've also gained 2 lbs!

Thank you for your question. It generally takes about 2-3 weeks for the swelling and bloating to subside. The intermittent discomfort tends to subside quicker than the swelling. If the swelling does not improve, I recommend scheduling a follow-up visit with your Coolsculpting  specialist.

Thank you for your question! It is not common to gain weight after CoolSculpting treatment. Sometimes the appearance of 'Gaining weight,' after a CoolSculpting treatment is confused with the body's inflammatory responses to healing which include swelling and water retention. If your concerns persist, I highly recommend contacting the original specialist that treated you for a proper follow up and evaluation. The good news is that these side effects typically will go away and are only temporary. Some patients find using a compress for a couple of days prior to treatment is helpful for this. Hello,Thank you for your question. It is very normal for this type of reaction after CoolSculpting in the lower abdomen. The swelling can last for a week or two , and it is most likely the extra fluid causing the extra two pounds. Give things a bit of time to calm down, and you should see results in 2-3 months. did they do z wave or cellutone after?  this should be done to cut down on the swelling. also you can wear compression. i suggest vanquish treatments weekly to enhance the results. it will take weeks to months to resolve.  if it doesn't resolve, consider seeing an expert to ensure you do not have paradoxical hyperplasia.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Yes, it is entirely normal to look swollen after coolsculpting; even up to two weeks.  I tell patients to expect not to wear their "skinny jeans" or a tight dress for at least 2 weeks because of the swelling. In time it will resolve and then from 1 to 3 months after the procedure is when you should start seeing the results.
